All living beings bitten by creatures from Planet Ecrom get a serious infection and end up dying. If the victim survives, the infection may progress to three levels of mutation. Few creatures even evolve to level three. Those who survive are rare exceptions, and become mutants and freaks of nature. Nathan Lapeyre was one of those exceptions. He was infected, survived and evolved to level three, and became Harmfull.
Harmful's mutant capabilities:

- body thermal control,
- super developed intelligence,
- tentacles on the body,
- thorn attack,
- poison attack,
There are still many other capabilities that can emerge over Harmfull's lifetime. After all, he is the mind of a scientist in the body of a mutant alien.
